The Advisory Council for Seniors Δ

The Advisory Council for Seniors operates out of the Forrest Dennis Seniors Centre Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (except July and August, when it's open for three hours Tuesday mornings). The Auxiliary to Campbellford Memorial Hospital is a charitable organization which raises funds to support the hospital's needs for specialized equipment and facilities. Primary in-town fund-raising activities include the operation of the hospital gift shop and a Christmas bazaar. The Auxiliary meets at 1:30 p.m. on the 2nd Friday of the month in the Auxiliary Room. The Campbellford/Seymour Agricultural Society hosts its annual Fair on the first weekend after the civic holiday weekend in August. The 2009 Fair will be the 155th annual fair, and will feature a Midway, Livestock Shows, Homecraft Displays and Demonstrations, Novelty Contests for kids, The Children's Activity Centre, a 4X4 Challenge, a Demo Derby, Lots of Live Entertainment, Concessions and More!

In 2000, the citizens of Campbellford/Seymour became the benefactors of a legacy that will have positive impacts on our community for generations to come. The community elected to allocate the proceeds of the sale of their 100-year old public utility to the Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation. The Foundation was given the mandate to ensure the funds were used for the common good, now and for the future. The CSCF makes grants available for projects both large and small to benefit and enhance life in Campbellford/Seymour across a broad spectrum of categories - Arts & Culture, Education, Youth, Recreation, the Environment, Health, Social Services and Community Development. Campbellford Seymour Canadian Cancer Society Δ

The Campbellford Seymour Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society meets the 2nd Tuesday of January, March, May, September, and November at Forgrave Financial Services, 25 Doxsee Ave. South, starting at 1 p.m. Volunteer activities include promoting healthy lifestyles, providing transportation, assisting with annual fund-raising and arranging displays. The Campbellford-Seymour chapter of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario is dedicated to reducing the risk of premature death and disability from heart disease and stroke, by raising funds for research and health promotion. The Heart Month campaign held in February involves 80 and more local volunteers. The Campbellford/Seymour Heritage Society was formed in 1983 by a group of interested citizens from the area concerned about preserving our past for future residents. Together the wrote a book about our area called Gleanings.

Community support workers provide in-home personal care, light housekeeping, laundry, banking, meal planning, preparation and shopping. Community Advocacy Services (Adult Protective Service Program) is designed to help adults with an intellectual disability live their lives to their fullest potential and as independently as possible within their community. Referrals come from many sources including self, family, friends, and community services. Client services include primarily advocacy and case management. Community Care Trent Hills serves Campbellford, Hastings and Warkworth. The main office is located at 174 Oliver Road, Unit 15, Campbellford. A satellite office operates out of the Hastings Civic Centre, 6 Albert Street. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. This volunteer organization provides information to seniors and the disabled, as well as transportation, home help, respite and caregiver relief, telephone security checks, social visits, errands, Meals on Wheels, a Frozen Meal Program, Fun and Fitness and a Diners' Club.

Forest Dennis Seniors Citizen Club Δ

Forest Dennis Seniors Citizen Club meets regularly in the Forest Dennis building on Grand Road next to the Trent Hills and District Chamber of Commerce. Activities include card games such as cribbage, euchre, bid euchre and bridge, shuffle board, and group bus trips. A small fee to join provides discounts on regular bus outings. The Bemersyde Chapter of the IODE Δ

The Bemersyde Chapter of the IODE - Campbellford supports programs such as "Born to Read" which provides bags of books free to new mothers, and oral communications festivals in public schools. Members also visit to area nursing home residents and people who cannot get out on their own. Meetings are held 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd Thursday of every month from September to June. The Lions Club of Campbellford serves those who are less fortunate with particular emphasis on assisting people who are vision-impaired or blind. The club meets at 7 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at The Odd Fellows Hall on Victoria Street. Lions Park is a community asset enjoyed by the public.
